anyone ever put something similar to this in an automatic fourth gen?

The boot or the ****? You can get the boot at http://www.redlinegoods.com/ but im not sure where to get shifter ***** since MBA is gone.

 

I want to put a new **** on it

 

pretty sure you need the whole shifter...since the handle doesn't have provisions for the button/lockout device.

seems like there are several aftermarket shifters that work. off the top of my head i think the quarter stick works.

i know they made a console unit for the 3rd gen autos...not positive on teh 4th gens

 

i know i need a whole new shifter assembly. I'm just trying to find one that will look nice, facia wise an still let the car look clean.

 

B&m makes that one. jsut get the one for the 700r4 and you will have to mod some thigns like the solenoide and a few things but it can work.

 

too much work..... the stock shifter looks nice enough IMO

 

Too bad you don't have a 93. B&M's Megashifter works for the 700R4/4L60 and is what im gonna pick up in a few weeks. From what I've read on the boards it can work with the stock console. The only modifications involve cutting on the mount plate, which is covered by the console when its finished.
