3rd gen seats into 4th gen?

Will they mount in without any modification? I have power driver seat and manual passenger, but I want manual driver and passenger? Can I just get some 3rd gen seats and put them in?

Why not just get manual 4th gen seats for both sides? My V6's seats are both manual.

what would be the reasoning to want manual seats when you have power?

Well good luck with that. About the only chance you'd have outside of getting *extremely* lucky is to find another passenger side seat and put the driver side rails on it. Of course your recline adjustment would be on the wrong side and you wouldn't be able to use your seat belt guide either. I've heard that material is discontinued so reupholstering them wouldn't be possible. You could get them done in some other material though.

My guess is weight reduction. And the power seats are slow as hell in my opinion. My Z has them, my V6 doesn't. Honestly, I don't know what the big deal is about power seats. It's not like it takes a lot of effort to move a seat back and forth.

More of a reliability and less stuff to worry about. The power seat is out so I'm going to have to replace the motor or just get a better looking seat thats manual

I had the same deal, driver seat was real tore up and tryed to get it fixed but the upoltery shop said they tried to order the material but was no longer available. Got a new headliner though. Checked online and all the salvage yards no luck. Came across a 97 v6 firebird at the JY and got those (cheap) pretty nice condition. Never really liked the two tone seats anyway. I was also looking at 3rd gens and they are a bolt in deal. I used the driver side seat track from the bird cause my z28 was power and I am going for weight reductions. Those power tracks are heavy !

do you know this for a fact? they will bolt in from my experience but they are a bit different in how they sit in the car.

never heard of people wanting 3rdgen seats in a 4thgen considering a nice set is so hard to find.
