Question 35th Anniversary emblem

I am trying to get my local dealer to replace the "35TH ANNIVERSARY CHEVROLET CAMARO" emblem on the dash of my 02 Z28, under warranty, due to the finish falling off. I am the second owner. They are trying to tell me that the emblem did not originally come on my car. That someone must have installed it themselves. I am under the impression that ALL 02 Camaro's came with them from the factory. Who's right?

Thanks

All 2002 Camaro's came with the emblem. Dealer should have the part number I would think. Just go to the parts counter and ask them to look it up.

I just got finished talking to a "Customer Relationship Manager" at the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center. I was informed by him that the area service manager that he has contacted has said that the emblem is an after market part and that it did not come from the factory. Where are these people getting there information from? Every single 02 Camaro that I have seen, at least 25, either in person or in picture's (E-Bay), has the "35th Anniversary Chevrolet Camaro" emblem installed. How difficult is it for someone at GM to find out that this is a factory peace? Anyway, I guess the guy got tired of me, so he contacted my local dealer and asked them to get me a new emblem to keep me a "satisfied customer". I wish they would do the same thing for my piston slap problem. That's another story.:

Sorry, I forgot to ask. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a web site where it states that all 2002 Camaro's came with the "35th Anniversary Chevrolet Camaro" emblem on the dash? It's the principal of the matter now.

Thanks

hmm... not positive.. but do Z28s get an extra booklet besides the manual? I'm asking because my 96 SS got an SS booklet stating all the extra features. But I don't know if Z28's get them. If so check in there. I know that my SS booklet shows that the ash tray has a "Z28 SS" emblem with the car number. If you don't have that extra booklet.. maybe just try the manual.. doubt it will say but maybe.

Good idea about the books. Z28's did not get a supplement. I went through my owners manual and it does not have a picture of that part of the dash. Anyone bought there 02 new and know's the emblem came with it?

Thanks
