285-40-17 in the rear

anybody have 285-40-17 in the rear on a 9.5 rim.Are there any problems w/ this size in the back.

You'll be fine. I have 275/40/17 on my back and I have a convertiable so there is less room in the wheel well. I am even going to 285 or 295 when these wear off

285s on a 9.5" rim will work fine. I know several people running this setup, even works fine on lowered cars.

I had 285/40's on 9.5"s on front and back lowered 2"s. No problems at all!

When your speedo reads 60 mph, you are actually traveling 60.7 mph.

Shouldn't be any major problems with the 285.

Handy tire size calculator. Enter the 275 as the stock tire and the 285 as the new tire.

Thanxs guys.I can reprogram my speedo for 26in tire w/ my hpp.Wait a minute you can trick your computer by changing tire height and gear ratio to throw of your mph so you put less miles on your car?Thats scary

I have 285/40/17 front and rear. It works and the KDWs were $30 less each than the 275s

A buddy of mine has that size on is 17/9.5 SS 10 spokes and they fit just fine.
