He's still in some training he didn't spot some errors until I posted em, but thats how it always goes.

Something about armature or shudder speed or something...you leave the lens open and it absorbs all the light including that of the lightning, so it lets you "catch" it. It's the same method used to catch a stream of traffic on highway so it looks blurry on the road but everything around it looks still (does that make sense).I've got pics we took having fun with an LED light on a keychain. You can shine the light at the camera and it will catch the light as it swirls through the air and all you see is the pattern, and even though you ran through the shot you can't be seen because you didn't absorb enough light for the camera to see you.

on the top one in photoshop you can cut the sky out and make it a seperate piece, which is what he did, then adjusted the contrast of just that part so sky turned red, but the car looked the same, it was a neat effect. None of the lightning was added AFAIK didn't need to. Also he's gone back in and fixed some errors he made with these to clean them up even more so I may rehost them.

This was the largest format I could get Imageshack to host, the files are huge. Does someone know where I can host a larger file size, as they do look better than this. I do have the raws, they are like 8mp and big is that what you want? I am pretty sure they will be high res. I'll check


Okay...I can post a couple raw images soon with the plate and what not still on the car tomorrow evening along with some of the LED pictures they are kinda neat and fun to look at. I can also get a better explanation on exactly how he sets the camara up for a long exposure to photgraph the lightning. I'll be at his place thursday night, watching UFC so I'll post em then. In the meantime where can I host the larger images they are big files. Thanks.

 

You can condense those images in photoshop by using different formats. A High-res jpeg or tiff would be perfectly fine. Plenty of ways to get those images small enough for hosting. I should know, im a graphic designer... haha...
