Well, my job is a 60 mile round trip mostly going 65 mph. Also, back in my younger days, I rarely let a day go by without hitting at least 100 mph. No problems with the bra I had (for months) on my 90 IROC or my 94Z. Now, I have seen damage done by a bra but I used bras on 5 of my Camaros with no damage so who knows?

I just know the highway can be rough on the front end of these cars and she's got nice coat on her that i'd like to protect for as long as I can.

Maybe we are both missing the point. I stated that I have driven my car for 10 YEARS and 70k+ miles without a bra, for a reason. I've taken my camaro on 1000+ mile trips (one way) without a problem, and still the front end held up beautifully. What I was saying is... you don't need a bra to keep the front end looking great.

I'm not sure why you are asking the question in the first place, because if the car is extremely clean when you put the bra on, it will obviously protect the front from all nick and bug damage. In my opinion, it hasn't been an issue.

Well, maybe you've just been lucky......you haven't run into any little pebbles or pieces of debris in your travels. All it takes is one time, to really **** up your front fascia.

All:

I just ordered a Wolf bra. After reading a little around on this and other sites I heard nothing but superior things about their brand as opposed to LeBra or another. I'll let you know how things go when I move in a couple weeks. Thanks for the help to all.

Dan, I don't think you've experienced the Florida love bug! They are very acidic and usually if you get them off when you get to where you are going you are OK. However, I have seen it where they are so acidic that even if you remove them the same day it is too late and paint damage has already been done! They are nasty little buggers

True Brent.

Maybe I'm a little overboard with my distaste for car bra's (of any kind). I just don't like them, but that's just me I guess. Yes, if you want to ensure that you don't get any damage from bugs/stones on your trip, get the car bra. You will probably want to cover the front of your side mirrors though too since they catch a lot of nasty critters too. Believe me, we get a lot of bugs up here in the summer months, but maybe they just aren't as acidic as some in other areas of the country.

For a temperary fix I would have gotten this stuff.: http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/xpel3mpainpr.html

I too, have used bra's on different vehicles for years, and had no problems. But you do have to buy good quality and keep the car & bra clean.
