What size tires do you think that I should get for my rear 17x8's? I have 245-45-17 on the front.

I would go with the same 245 on the rear to keep the tires rotatable. But if you wanna go meatier on the back you could bump up to a 255/45/17.

Squeezing a 275/40/17 may not be possible. Even if you could get them on an 8" wide rim, you will not utilize the full contact patch and the sidewall will have a lot of bulge. Catch a curb and kiss the sidewall bub-bye.
