17x11 TT II wheels
Im looking into getting the american racing TT II wheels, i wanna get 17X11 in the rear but my only concern is how far will it stick out, ive seen 17x11 on some cars and it looks good, but ive seen 17x10 and it seemed to stick out farther, why is that. DOes it have to do with teh back spacing or osmething or the kinda of wheels you buy, also will my 275/40/17 fit the width of a 17x11 wheel?? thanks

The TT II 17x11's have a 7.75" backspace. That puts them about 1/6th" more toward the outside than the AFS ZR1 (50mm offset/7.93" BS) 17x11's.
Here is an LS1 WS6 with the AR TT II's, 17x11 in the back. You have to decide for yourself it they stick out too far - they look pretty good to me.

There are the AFS ZR1 (GS offset):
My Formula
Not a lot of difference..... like I said, about 1/6th of an inch.
Most tire manufacturers will accept a 275/40-17 on a rim ranging from 9.0-11.0". But in my opinion, that tire will look a little "stretched" on an 11" wheel.
On the left..... 315/35-17 on a 17x11, on the right..... 275/40-17 on a 9.5........
315/35 vs. 275/40
