17X11 or 18X11Rims

What are our options for these sized rims? I really want a new set, but I really want the wide ones out back. I just can't seem to find anything other than the standard ZR1, which I'm NOT putting on my T/A.

HMM There are a bunch:

Torque thrust II
Fikse
Boyd (nice ones for pretty good prices)
Intro makes a nice 10 inch
American racing used to make one you can find used
Centerlines are all availible in the 11 inch

There are more those are just off the top of my head. There is a guy at LS1tech selling a set of TTII with tires for 1200!!!! I should buy those instead of the Fikse's!

Yeah, the Fiske's I'd really like myself, but I LOVE the Boyd Smoothie II. I just need to find somewhere selling them in an 18X9 and 18X11 with the proper offest.

You're going to love the Fiske's, don't even think about going with the TT2's.

I'm not really against the TT2's, they do look sweet, and I really like the way that they look. the problem however is that it seems that EVERYONE has a set now. Be different. yeah they look great on our cars, but so do a lot of others.

Stream, I think Fastbird is posting an opinion which I believe he is entitled to, you posted yours he posted his then you tell him his is dumb....NICE

On top of that he KNEW I was getting the Fikse's already, I think what he was trying to say is that I shouldn't change my mind. In his OPINION (which I value to a certain degree) the TTII would not make as good as choice.

In your defense if I had a dark blue or Black z28 I can think of NO OTHER rim I would put on it then a TTII. NONE but saying that does it offend all the others who have say ZR1s or Fikse's on that car??? Is that a dumb thing to say????????????????

On the flip side of this I think the boyds are getting played out on the TA's and I don't know if I like them or not. That is my opinion now is that dumb???

You have some SWEET A$$ rims ESPECIALLY in that size why the hell would you get so defensive about them??? And in a forum that is about sharing Ideas and OPINIONS???

17's will probably give you more tire options (read as: cheaper).

18's will probably look more agressive. Of course the downside here is the extra weight, extra cost for rims, extra cost for tires, and slightly less rwhp (from the weight increase).

If it's a show car? 18's.
If it's a daily driver, or even a weekend warrior and you plan on burning through tires, or curbing it or slamming a pothole or speed-bump once in a while (accidentally of course) you'll probably be better off with 17's.

It's not a show car by any means. I like the way the 18 looks, fills up the wheel well more, but they'd be for street only. And even that's a rare thing. I only take the car out for a drive maybe 3-4 times a month, and then to the track an equal amount of time. I'm really starting to lean towards the 17 just because of availability. There's only a few things in the 18 size I'd like to get, and they're all only available in the 9" size, with the exception of the TT2's and I believe Fiske's. If the ROH RT came in an 18X11 I'd be all over that in a heartbeat. But, back to the question at hand, it's not a show car, never will be either. I just wanted a tiny taste of the "bling bling" on my ride for the street.
