I have always pondered about what the shifter out of an 03 cobra would look like in my car. So the other day i headed down to the local ford dealer ( a weird feeling indeed ) So anyways i got the ****, and since the threads on the inside of the **** are way smaller than the rod on my hurst i had to make a custom rod ( pics of that later ) But anyways i am loving this shifter handle. it feels so good, and looks good also

Nice. I just changed to a black leather Hurst shift **** last night. I love it! (same shape as yours, minus the gear map)

 

So tell us how you made the custom rod! I've been wanting to do this for awhile but didn't know where to get my rod machined at.

I made it out of a peice of steel stock. I made it aboue 2" shorter than the hurst rod and not as much of a bend. It feels so good, one of my favourite mods

rlax31 has the Cobra shifter **** in his ride... he had the **** itself re-threaded by a shop so it would fit on a standard F-body shifter.

Yeah, thats another way it could be done, but it took me about 40 minutes to make a new stick with the proper threads.
