I dont know about texas, but up here in ct, MINT used,new-generation compact glocks, like the 19, go for like 3-400 depending on if they come with spare mags, loader, case etc...

If you want a good cheap hand gun get you a Bersa Thunder .380. I just picked up new at a gun show for $200 they retail about $275. If you do a search on the net you'll find a lot of great reviews on it. I've put over a hundred rounds threw mine and love it. All my friends who are gun nuts gave it a thumbs up too.

 

i cant get one at a gun show, I'm 20 and you have to be 21 to buy a handgun...I live in alone in a real bad neighborhood and want to get some form of protection though, so im trying to buy one from a private party.

 

Oh well you're probably SOL then. I don't think you'll find to many people wanting to sell a handgun to someone underage. Don't you have a parent or something that can buy one for you?

If you don't have the means to find one for yourself without asking here, I highly doubt that it will do you any good should you ever need to use it, your street smarts are non-existant.

 

yeh like its that big of a deal, I'm a year underage...no police force would waste the resources for an Internet investigation to track down someone purchasing a handgun...

Not sure what your looking in a handgun. Personal I used to love glocks. At one point had every model they offered. The 3 years ago Springfield started the XD model's. Sold ALL off the glocks and carry/use the Springfield's. At present my carry gun is a XD-357. The .357 sig round has the same knock down power as a .357 magnum only in a auto loader. But with all that power it has more recoil then both the 9mm and .40 cal.

Just my 2 cents...

 

Why dont you just get a 12GA shotgun.. A lot more protection than a hand gun IMO, a hell of alot easier to hit your target and best of all its legal to buy when you are 18 (at least here in AZ)..
