I’ll be hard pressed to believe that any long tube setup reasonably close to the stock TPI layout will feed 500bhp…

There are no single plane CARB legal manifolds, which is why I suggested either trying to slide the LT1 in as an upgrade year wise or to hide a carb conversion manifold under a big air cleaner like it was a TBI…
Or switch to a MR/HSR and put the TPI intake back on once a year to pass smog.

Re: XFI 218 Cam Or Custom Cam

Thanks guys for the comments and constructive criticism. The way I was looking at it was with the increase in the plenum volumn and the plenum extending 1/3 of the way into what was the runners the air would slow down and not be making the sharp turns at high speed and therefore cut down on turbulance.

Next question is will the siamese portion of the runners act like runners or as an extension of the plenum? Maybe as you have stated it will be a mixed bag.
I really don't care for the looks of the HSR and I think my setup is close to that. I will have the intake system flowed and see what the results are. Like I said maybe open it up some more.

I'm doing more with my next build up including things like .035 quench where there is none now, oil control such as crank wiper, wire windage tray etc, raising the compression by a point, changing the heads and increase CFM by 25 points and at a minimum the 218XFI cam. Also will be upgrading the exhaust some more. So then maybe the high 300's are in store and maybe 11.99. Againl thanks for the replys.
