I give -

How much rpm do expect to turn this engine?
Thats the only limiting factor for the head to deck clearance, I have run as little as .017. So long as you have steel rods and keep the RPM below 6500.

Now once you know that you can calculate the chamber size, which is what I thought I said above when I said that Jim had special gaskets and we had to cut the chambers out to 68 cc's to arive at 9.5 to 1 C/R.

And I'm glad that you know about Toluene, but that's not the only way!

I know of no way to calculate the DCR since the cam controls that, so I'm always stuck using a compression gage, hence I found that most engines make reasonable power somewhere in the neighborhood of 185 to 225 gage psi.

You said a moderate street driven car & maybe a 150 shot so I gave you the information requested regarding those facts.

Thank you, Denny. I appreciate your time. I guess more of what I was looking for were some numbers to shoot for. I guess I'll just figure it out myself.

What numbers do you want?

The exercise in resolving the questions you have about any ICE help you to learn how to be an Engine Wizard, which I assume is what you really want. Realize that the questions are more important than the answers, but the search for that answer creates the end result. Therefore if all I do is answer the question directly - did you learn anything? Not really because you didn't learn how to solve the problem, so when it comes back again you have to continue to ask the same question over and over.

The smartest thing I ever said is "I don't know" why? Because as soon as I say to myself "I know that" then my access to any further knowledge is shut off. But then I'm an Information Junky.

Be patient with yourself and apply all the knowledge that you possess and you will never fail.
