What all is neccesary to run a 95 Timing cover and Opti with 97 Harness?

The 96/97 covers have a crank position sensor (for misfire detection) We have a 96 car here that is gettign Gen7 DFI. Will the 96 style cover work fine with the DFI splice in harness and will everything work ok like that, or will we need a 95 style cover without the sensor?
Sidenote, could you use the 96/97 crank position sensor, machine off all but one tooth and use it as a crank trigger?

It looks like you want to run a later cover on your 95 engine? Kinda hard to tell, but yah you can just plug the hole with a frost plug or use a sensor and not plug it in. As far as the trigger wheel it depends on the system you're using.
