Its a great thread for me too. I think you should open this thread in LT1 tech section as its not an advanced question.

I believe 987 is too weak. I have 210cc heads too and my cam lift is around 565lift. I will use max 10psi boost.

Pac 1518 is a nice choice too but I don't know if they can handle 15 psi boost.

I'm not sure 135 close seat and 340 open will be enough for that pressure. I heard at least 150-160psi close and ~400 open for safety.

You need to start with whoever ground the cam for their recommendations.

I ordered the cam from CompCam, but I don't trust their recommendations. They will recommend their 26918
You know the cam that was your first specced out (214/224 565/536 114). What would you offer for 15 psi max??

Mine is a CC.

I called them and they recommended 950 springs then I told them about the 15psi then then recommended 987 springs.

Didnt feel comfortable with the answer so I called again, this guy asked more question about the setup and he recommended the 987 springs and when I told him about the 15psi he said 950 springs...... The opposit of whan the other guy told me..........

Then I called CMS who I ordered the cam from, they went out of buisness but the guy who took over the buisness recommended the 977 spring with and without 15psi............

If I was unsure before this didnt help me

It is a great cam! I don't know how much room there is to play with on yours, so I can't give you a specific spring. But you want ~150 on the seat and ~350 open. The specifc spring you need willl depend on the available installed height. Obviously, stay away from large diameter springs unless the heads are off and you don't mine opening up the spring pockets. I am a big advocate of Ti retainers. But unfortunately these have gotten very pricel.

I agree that Comps tech line is useless unless it's an off-the-shelf utem and then they are basically reading out of the catalog.

That oughta work fine. Not less than 150 on the seat.

F=ma fellas...... so seated and open pressure depends on the mass it has to control....

The 214/224 is one thing but the 227/233 is a pile and the same thing can't be used on both because nothing I have seen works with the later. ONE REASON WHY THOSE LOBES AREN'T IN THE Master Lobe Cat anymore!

Makes sense. I didn't look too closely (my lame excuse).

"Pile" refers to a mound of animal solid waste often found in fields.

"POS" might be a more familiar term.
