I know this doesn't relate to camaro's, but I was hoping some of you out there have had some experience with this paticular problem. The car is a 97 ford taurus and it just had the transmission replaced with another tranny out of the same year car and it has the same exact problems. They sent it to me to check out and I noticed that there were two possible transmission's that could be in that car ax4n or ax4s. It's supposed to have the ax4s and that's what's in it, but it appears the ecm is sending the signals to shift it like it was an ax4n tranny. I noticed it has a reflash code from the ford dealer and I was wondering if it's possible to reflash a computer to except a different transmission. The reason I'm suspected the computer is programmed for the ax4n is because it's activated all 3 shift solonoids at the same time which would be 2nd gear in the ax4n tranny, but in the ax4s all 3 shift solonoids should never be activated at the same time. vermsta@hotmail.com
