Jody, didn't intend to confuse you. The latest version of TS ring did not replace the original. It was added to their existing line of rings. Believe they have been available upwards of 2 years. AFAIK, BOTH versions are still available.

BTW Max Seals are the top gapless rings and yes it never made sense to me to have a 2nd ring gapless.

after using both the 2nd ring ts and the top ring ts i have a question for the people complaining about the oil usage.my question is are you guys using the low tension oil rings?the reason i ask is i have never had a problem with oil usage but i use the standard tension oil rings.the low tension oil rings make more power but do not work well on street motors.i have seen no worse than 1% leakdown at 120psi and 0% after 300 miles,and no oil usage.i may just be lucky but they have worked very well for me in quite a few different applications.
