tire presure at the dyno

tire presure at the dyno

my buddy got a dyno last week, and he wants a big nitrous car to play with, and i have a limited 10.5 car. i've never put my car on the dyno, and he's not sure on the tire presure think. what do run?

We run typical pressure for street tire cars. For cars that have drag slicks, we pump them up to street pressures to keep them from heating up too much.

thats what we did, it went 825 rwhp and 643 torque. i haven't done my car before, and i know that when we dyno my bike the horse power out-put can be changed by the tire presure.

Well, the point of a chassis dyno is not to get absolute numbers. The primary use is to evaluate the effect of changes on a given vehicle. So, you want tire pressure consistent across runs to make the results as useful as possible.

Like Rich stated, I ran mine at regular street pressure 35psi.
