Solid Roller Springs w/ Hydraulic roller cam?

i have 977 springs, but am going hydraulic roller, just wondering what exactly the differences of solid roller springs and hyd. roller springs are. as far as i can tell...in comparison to the 950's, i can only see the seat pressure being the significant differance at the open seat pressure #'s. can i run the 977's without issue, or should i go to a hydraulic spring?

The 977's will work on a hyd roller been there done that. I wouldn't downgrade the springs any less than that.

Agreed, I use the 977's fairly often.

Comp recommends the 987 springs for their more aggressive HR cams. I have found them to be less than adequate after a short period of time.

I like the 977 springs and recommend installing them slightly higher so to yield approximately 150 lb seat pressure.

thanks guys, going to run this with some morel's and probably run some more lift aswell. just have to worry about piston/valve clearance now with .615 lift

The lift isin't the problem with P to V it's valve events that count.

I agree with HiTech... the 987's are far from enough valve spring to do the job.
