Sheet metal intake design

Sheet metal intake design
If this needs to move please do so.
This is the car in question, it’s still a very mild build.
The car
Recently I was introduced to a local fabricator who builds custom intake manifolds for Volkswagens (hopefully he will begin building one for my vr6 soon). If i were to build a sheet metal intake for my project what kind of features should I be looking for?
I want a stock throttle body (iac is a great function)
I want thick walled runners so that I can have ai or le port match it to their heads (eventually)
Possibly a removable cover for the plenum
Place to mount the methanol nozzle within the plenum
Custom rails/ adapt stock rails does not matter.
What kind of plenum volume should I be looking for? How long should the runners be? How big should the runner cross section be? Is bigger always better when talking about FI?
Educate me !!!!! lol

that hogans manifold looks georgous.. but why would you go through all the trouble of having a custom manifold made and keep the stock throttle body? or by stock do you mean stock replacement ( 52 or 58 mm) by an aftermarket company?
before you dump a ton of money you should first just consider picking up an le or ai ported lt1/lt4 manifold and save yourself a nice wad of cash to use in other areas of the car

rephrase stock STYLE throttle body 52,58, mono etc etc etc
i havent asked for a price for a v stlye manifold but let me say that his price for a vr6 manifold is very very affordable. But speaking of cost vs performance would a large plenum sheet metal unit have its advantages over a ported stock unit?

If I were to try and build a LT1 intake manifold I would try and extend the runners up into the plenum as far as posible and not disrupt the air flow into the runners. I would make the plenum as big as feasibly posible. As far as the runner CSA and taper goes a good engine builder program could supply that information. Maybe something along the lines of EA Pro.

The optimum design will depend on the rev range, displacement, heads used, and boost level. And it has to fit in the available space. If you are seriously considering this, call someone like Wilson and be prepared to spend about $2,500 and wait a few months.
