Question sbc gm vortec heads

i bought a new set of the gm performance parts vortec heads and i was wondering

the stock intake volume is 170cc how could i get these heads to atleast 200cc intake

also they come with 1.94/1.50 int/exh but can be machined for 2.02/1.60 int/exh how much do you think this would cost?

Unless you know what you are doing you don't want to make those heads have any larger port volumes. For the size they flow awesome and are great on a 350-383 small block untouched. The only thing you might have to do is fix the spring pockets and guides to put bigger springs in there. I would also change over to screw in rocker studs with guideplates.

If you want 200cc heads look at the Fastburns or the E-Tec 200cc heads.

You can use a spacer (or stack of washers) and a rocker nut mounted flat side down against the spacer/washers. By tightening the nut, you will pull the stud.

Of course, then you must machine the top of the stud boss flat, redrill and tap the hole either 3/8 or 7/16 for screw-in studs. This is probably left up to a machine shop which does it regularly; they will have the correct tools.
