SBC crank trigger distributor hold downs...

Single plane Super Vic
MSD crank trigger (crab cap), billet, adjustable collar

This is going on the lt1 while using the opti to feed the ECM/coil, but running all spark through the MSD.

Anyways, the collar fits up against the intake, but i dont have any hold downs for it. MSD recommends their billet hold down which is $24.
My question, do i need one or two hold downs? The intake has two holes, but it looks like the msd part they recommended is only 1 hold down? Do i need two of them or is only 1 needed? I cant see how one would keep the shaft centered? Didnt know if the two holes in intake were necessary for two hold downs, or just gave you two mounting options. http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...83&prmenbr=361

#2....Do i really need billet? Moroso makes steel ones for about $7. The motor will see max of 8000 rpms if that matters in the hold down aspect.

You only need one of the holes to hold down the distributor. I think the cheaper steel fork will work just fine.
