SB2 LT1 - Chassis Dyno #'s

For those who have not been following, the motor is a 396" LT1 with Nextel Cup SB2.2 heads and intake, DFI GEN 7 and a NX direct port system.

After some bearing issues it finally made the smoke we were looking for.

All numbers through a GForce T56 and a 12 bolt:

626 RWHP on motor
853 RWHP on a 200 shot

The nitrous run was very conservative and has more tuning in it as it is a touch on the fat side.

Off to the track next week

Awesome numbers!! How do you think the 12 bolt will hold up at the track?

If that car hooks, that 12-bolt will file a formal complaint.

Good luck!

Aren't there lots of other guys running 9s or better with 12 bolts? I thought the only weakness to the 12 bolt was the Eaton Posi most of them come with. Those numers are SICK. I wish I had the funds to do a 427 SBC with those heads along with high compression and a massive solid roller.

I actually saw one for sale not too long ago. I believe it was a 434. I can look for it, I think the guy only wanted 11k or so.

We ditched the Eaton and put in a locker.

Going with a bigger bore with these heads would really wake them up. We did it with 4.030" bore and a small plenum restrictor plate intake and didn't port the heads. It might be closer to 700 rwhp N/A with the right setup.

Thanks for all the kind words.

Man, that's some monster torque! Looks like a really nice motor design all the way through. It's gonna fly!
