Pump gas motor queston?

Looking at building a solid roller nitrous motor that could be filled up with 93 octane and driven on the street once and a great while. Would a 11.7 static compression and 8.78 dynamic compression be to high?

Re: Pump gas motor queston?

problem is pump gas + nitrous = detination. Which is a really bad deal.

not really if you run a dedicated fuel system for the nitrous with race fuel. I am going a very similar route, pump gas motor huge shot of the gas

Nitrous is not the issue. I am talking about running the car on street very little and it would be without the nitrous. Race gas only when using nitrous at the track, period.

11.8:1 is very safe. I ran as high as 12.5:1 (not just ran, but RACED) but that was pushing it.

my 401ci motor was 12:1 and I actually ran it on a nitrous a bit on 93 octane, though I dont reccomend it :-D

Re: Pump gas motor queston?

The boundries of pump gas all depend on burn, the ability for the motor to take detonation, the coolant and the quality of the fuel.

If you are 100% on that DCR then you will be ok if things are done correctly.

If you never run the juice on pump gas then even better.

Re: Pump gas motor queston?

I run a 425 CI SBC solid roller 12:1 compresion on the street with Nitrous. But I have to run race fuel..... I tried a mix 50/50 108 and 93 pump and had trouble...
