Is that the same propylene oxide that they use in thermobaric bombs? If so, freakin' awesome.

I don't know about all that, but if you put it on the carpet and she goes faster I might check it out. It sure is expensive so it must do something

It must be worth something. The 2008 NHRA Rulebook (page 65) says, "the use of propylene oxide is prohibited in all classes." Plus, it seems like I recall something about it being carcinogenic. If you decide to experiment, give us an update, especially if you pick up more than a second and/or start to glow in the dark!

It says 8% increase in power without making any other changes to your setup because it contains oxygen.

Interesting...........

It's used as an accelerator. A basic thermobaric weapon uses principles similar to an internal combustion engine. It is essentially a big tank of fuel with an explosive charge to atomize the fuel in the air, then a secondary charge ignites the fuel.

I believe the propylene oxide in those bombs can reach temperatures over 5000 degrees Fahrenheit though, so I would be careful about putting that in your motor.

I'm going to go to worldwide racing monday and get some. I have to get some other stuff anyway.

I will update how it does, I did talk to someone and they picked up 3 tenths. They are running a big ford in a top sportsman car. went from 7.70 to 7.40. Thats a huge amount of power increase at that level. So I am convinced to try it

Fuel-air explosives are nice!

Mike, be careful with that stuff. And I hope you already have kids.

It says you can mix it with methanol also. Wonder if you'd be able to mix it with straight methanol in a methanol injection setup and see a gain over straight methanol alone.

I've messed with it in the past in both Sprint cars and in testing with a NHRA stocker. What fuel do you currently use? The gains really vary between the fuel types specific gravities.

I call BS on the person picking up 3 tenth on a Top Sportsman application, do the math your talking massive hp gain.

It isn't a "pour in and run fast" fuel additive there is a learning curve to it to maximize its potential.

Honestly, unless your match racing or class racing heads-up save your money, it has alot of health risks (for you and your fellow competitors) and your not going to gain massive hp from its use.

Might be too good to be true in your race car, but if you wanted to level a city block in a fairly economical fashion....
