OldSStroker ...
a few more Port CenterLine Lengths

Stock "out-of-box" AFR LS-X heads 00002418 ?
Intake Roof= 6.275 Floor= 5.050 Length= 5.663
Exhaust Roof= 4.055 Floor= 2.525 Length= 3.290

Stock "out-of-box" shape GM #12480090 C5R heads w/seat inserts installed
Intake Roof= 6.785 Floor= 4.965 Length= 5.875
Exhaust Roof= 4.475 Floor= 2.860 Length= 3.668
---------------------------------------------------

these Cyl Heads have the "record" on my FlowBench for
the "slowest" port velocity i've measured in a pair of heads
but supposedly they made decent Power

Ford E460 Billy & Bob Glidden Wedge 2.420-1.820
Intake Roof= 7.300 Floor= 3.975 Length= 5.638

Lift---Intake---Exhaust--- 4.500" Flow Fixture SF-600 @ 28"
.200---136.9
.300---210.0
.400---278.5
.450---312.4
.500---345.1---275.3---79.8 E/I
.550---373.4
.600---400.1---311.6---77.9 E/I
.700---439.1---329.5---75.0 E/I Ratio
.800---457.0
.900---476.0
1.000--482.0

port velocities measured @ 28" Flow Test Pressure were =
between 187.2 fps to 198.6 fps , very, very even through out the
Intake port, but very slow...the slowest speed i've seen in a Cyl Head
....but supposedly ran fast at the DragStrip ??

that's a big difference in roof and floor, that port must be huge.

Was that head a N2O or lots of boost head? It almost seems like they are leaving room for additional something with slow velocity and big ports

Re: Port volume comparisons.

Bret,
That's what I said in that MACH post and what I have done on SBFords. How do you think Billy was winning all those racers in Fun Ford Pro 5.0 and the NMRA street car association with that black Mustang. He taught it to John Bennett, and I figured it out on catching the tail end of a few conversations.
You have heard me mention "big port-short rod" before.

it was around 5.000 sq.inches area

the reason for the incomplete Flow numbers on the Exhaust sides were due to the fact i had to use a Hite-Mike to open the Exhaust valve on the Flow Bench , because my Valve-open Fixture wouldn't work on the Exhaust side because of interferrence with valve cover rails on Heads...so we just spot-checked Exh Flow at a few Lifts

the main reason for Flowing those heads, was to get an idea on CamShaft needed and the Racer wanting to see what the numbers were before buying the Heads.

He had 3 Price quotes and Sheet Metal Intake Manifold specs from 3 Intake Fabricators...2 wanted to make him Intake lengths a whole 1.000" Inch shorter than what would have worked....the Ford's Intake port is over 1.000" inch shorter than the Dart Big Chief BBC Chevy ...so it takes an Intake Manifold 1.000" longer to make up the difference..to tune into same RPM range...that's where measuring Port CenterLine Lengths comes in handy

5.000 sq in, yep it's rather HUGE!

Yeah when people don't have the port length it is rather hard to finish off the system with a intake manifold when you are looking for xxx length.
