oil pump problems

I brought a new HV Melling (spelling) oil pump from Summit and a Milodeon (Spelling) deep pan for SBC's but hte oil pain pickup seems to be too large to connect into the HVmelling pump... and on the Box of the oil pan pickup it says BigBlock chevy??? what gives? BTW it's a mildeon (speeling) pickup for designed for the SBC tray. Oh yeah and my ARP oil pump shart isw too long for the pump...

For those using this pan what do you have? or what's wrong here?

OIL PAN PT# MIL-30902
MELLING PUMP # MEL-55HV
OIL PUMP PICKUP# MIL-18301
ARP Shaft# ARP-134-7901

damnit this is the wrong pickup designed for a small block pan... what the damnit! damnit!

Re: oil pump problems

Okay ... I got the pickup straightened out.. I just ordered the wrong part.

now my last question is about the oil pimp drive shaft.

The ARP hardnedned shaft I purchased is about 1 inch longer than the shaft that is already installed in the melling M55HV. ISn't this supposed to be a hardened replacment shaft...that's the same size as what I'm removing? This shaft is longer than the pump itself... what gives?
