oil filter bypass

do you really need the oil filter bypass in the oil pan if your oil filter has its own bypass built in

the ls3 pans have a threaded oil filter bypass inside the oil pan and also they use a pf48 or equivelent that has its own oil filter bypass built in

pf48?

do not use that filter..... get a good filter. The bypass is good for street cars, I would never take it off unless its a race only pc.

you dont like ac delco filters?, all the pf 48 equivelent filters have the bypass built into them

all the new gen 4 engines call for this filter, the thread pitch is different than the gen 3 engines

on a street motor I say yes. a cold start or something than bust the filter, collapse it internally etc.
The bypass will keep that from happening.
