Post Noise coming from intake valve #3

Cannot figure it out i put this on the LT1 tech but no one seems to know anything. it is not a tick it sounds like a rubbing noise. i took all of the rockers off and inspected then and put them back on and tightned them 3/4 past lash. but then noise is still there. i used a stethascope to pin point it to the #3 intake valve. the push pod seems ok but now im back to square one. please help. thanks in advance

Hmmm, very unusual noise. If you can run the motor w/ the valvecover off, push on the side of the valvespring. If the noise goes away, then the valveguide is worn out. Also make sure that oil is squirting out of the pushrod while its running.

Well i have the valve cover off still and i was monitoring it and there was plenty of oil going to each rocker. i took the rocker back off to observe it and as far as ican see it is alright on the top end. ill play with the spring but i still have a gut feeling it might be the lifter or what you said..the valve guide. im just dreading having to take the intake off. i have had so much lick with internals holding up and no leaks i dont want to desturb anything, but at this point i have run out of options and look like im going internal...

Still no dice. I put the rocker back on and started it and made sure that the oil was flowing through. There is plenty of oil and plenty of noise still. I pressed on the side with the valve spring and no difference other than shaking the crap out of me. My buddy said that my situation is simulae to what he had on his mustang. i took the intake off and it turned out to be a bad lifter. This is the last thing that i wanted it to be. i'm thinking that it could be a lifter or the guide plate. what other ideas do u guys have. My buddy is going to come and listen to it tomm and see if it is the same sound he heard on his stang. after that im going to tear into it. (not looking foward to that)Well thanks in advance again let me know and ill keep u informed on this as i tear into the top of the enging.
