Interesting concept. I wonder how long it will be before this catches on, or if it ever will. What's the downside?

 

looks interesting, I want to see a video of it working but IMO it won't catch on.

 

It looks pretty neat. The principles of it's operation seem to be solid. My major area of concern would be the amount of surface area in the combustion chamber. I was having a hard time seeing where everything went though, so maybe it's not as bad as it appears.

250hp at 2000rpm would mean 656ft.lbs. of torque. whoa. I've seen engines similar to this that use multiple pistons on a sort of carnival ride looking deal. The pistons rotate on a drum of sorts around the "crank". Both the Nevis and the before mentioned rely heavily on a wave patterned piston guide cut in the sidewall. Seems to be a weak point.
