NEW engine sat for 1.5 years, how do I safely break in?

Hey there guys. I am going to be installing a never run LT1 355 heads/cam engine in my car soon.My question is that this engine has been sitting in my garage covered up for a while now and has never been run. I had the rocker arms off until 3 weeks ago so that the springs didn't have any excess load for a while. I made sure to lube the cam and squirt oil along the bottom end rather frequently as I had taken the oil pan off. Is there any added precautionary measures I should take before getting this in the car and for first start up>?

Spin up the oil pump for a couple of minutes with a drill to preoil it. Once it builds oil pressure with the drill, have someone turn it over manually a few times while still spinning the pump. When you start it, don't let it idle for the first few minutes - keep the revs up to 2,000rpm or so.
