i wouldn't go alky if i were you. it won't gain you very much on a 10.5 motor. maybe if it was like 14.5 motor then i would say go for it. too much hassle for too smalll of gain(if any) on your engine.

but i guess if you do decide to then...

need alky fuel pump
regulator
bigger fuel lines
alky carb
alky nitrous selonoids
etc....

i would say buy a bigger cam and mill your heads or something and get like 11.0-11.5 comp and just run higher octane on the spray. that would get you better results then going to alky. jmo

Need help going to alcohol? Marry an ugly woman!

I've read that bracket racers like Alk because of the consitency.

The weather changes do not affect the air/fuel ratio as much.

I've also heard that Alk likes heat (hot heads) to help make
power.

There's my contribution...a little joke and some hearsay!

We kicked around running Methonal in the nitrous systems fuel cell last summer and John Phillips from nx said up the fueljets by two times the surface area and expect to run 10 to 15 degrees more timing at wot than what I was running on the sunoco maximal. That scared the hel1 out of me!
The methonal vrs race gas with the same nitrous jet size...
...meth will make more HP

I'm rambling...
If your going efi your going to need alky compatable injectors, pump, filter, lines.

Ive run meth for a number of years..Your watsing yopur time with such a puny cam and weak static compression..You are better off staying with gas for that engine..

The mildest engine ive run meth was my rx7s LT1..around 12- with a huge roller .621-670 and around 265 @.050..I went with meth since i had 3 drums in the shop from the race motor..Weldon makes the only pump worth buying but i have had ok succes with SX units and aeromotive. As far as injectors for efi the standard gas ones will work fine but you must flush them wjhen your done racing and swap orings about every 40 passes to be safe..

Not trying to scare you away but you really dont have enough engine for that fuel..My lt1 only gained .4ths from the switch..It did stay cooler running around in philadelphia traffic all day though..When you step up in motor then meth can be useful..My 434 smallblock with canted valve heads gained 60hp on meth..But thats a 16.4-1 engine with a 268@ .050 cam..

Read the article in the link carfully and email me if you have any questions at rx7smallblock@yahoo.com
