Re: major engine problems

it is coming out of the very top of the carb where it sucks the air in for the air/fuel ratio and i think it blows out when a cylinder compresses b/c it fluctuates from side to side

Is it blowing out at idle? If so my guess is the valves are to tight.

distributor a tooth off? maybe cam not degreed in properly?check lash? if its stock 86 balancer it could have slipped and is giving you a false TDC mark.

Re: major engine problems

yep sounds like shes out 180 to me too. put your #1 on tdc on the comp stroke and pull your dist cap, if it aint pointing at #1 take it out and flip it around. i would do that test before i spent the time on a comp test, because if thats the problem the comp test will show normal, and the motor still wont run.
