LT4 heads and rocker-girdles...

It would appear that the LT4 heads don't accept a regular SBC rocker-girdle. Both of the ones I have on hand are "off" on the exhaust stud be a good bit.

What are you LT4 headed guys running? Part #s?

Thanks.

I have the Moroso girdles on my car, but I have lt1 heads. I didnt think the valve spacing was any different with the lt4 heads?

I have AFR LT1 heads and my Jomar girdle fits fine.

Z8's, is that crane girdle for centerbolt valve covers?

Re: LT4 heads and rocker-girdles...

You can get a Comp undrilled one and then set it up exactly for your heads. Not bad when you have a mill on hand to get it done. The AFR (except 215 RR) valve centerline is tradtional SBC where the LT1/LT4 is like the bowtie valve centerline, so yeah you might have problems with finding the right stud girdle for the heads. IF the Moroso one works on LT1's it should work on LT4's

Chris I thought your car had AFR's on it?

I am still running GM LT 4 castings at this time ,But have a set of AFR's on the way should be on in the next couple of weeks. I think we have found the limits of the stock castings 8.92 e.t 159.84 mph.Gonna see what another 40 cfm will do

Re: LT4 heads and rocker-girdles...

That type will not work becuase the bolts that hold the two halves together are were you need to drill. The kind I have (Moroso) are the type that have U-bolts squeezing the poly-locks and they already have the hole cut in them. They were like $125 from Summit.
