Ls7 Big Block Chevy Heads
Re: Ls7 Big Block Chevy Heads
Considering the LS7 was never a production engine, without casting numbers I have no idea exactly what the heads are.
In 1970 GM offered the LS7 as an over the counter crate motor that was built with over the counter parts. 4 bolt block, steel crank, 7/16" pink rods, forged floating pin pistons, solid cam, aluminum open chamber square port heads, 12.5:1 compression, 3/8" pushrods, 850 cfm Holley on an aluminum hi-rise intake. The LS7 454 was rated at 460 hp.
If I had to take a guess at what the heads are, I'd say they're probably 188 castings.
PORT SIZE: 317
CHAMBER: 115cc
VALVE SIZE: 2.19 / 1.88
FLOW@.100: 68 / 45
FLOW@.200: 129 / 90
FLOW@.300: 188 / 131
FLOW@.400: 233 / 170
FLOW@.500: 259 / 188
FLOW@.600: 291 / 195
FLOW@.700: 313 / 200
Now that's for an unported 24 year old head.
