Last minute stroker start up questions... Almost there!

hey guys
got it all together, fluids, and everything.
tried to start but there was an electrical problem. found out my alternator shorted out. No big deal. Got a new one. Start it up and she ran like a BEAST!

Then died
is it due to a lack of tuning???
Xe236/242
stock heads (mine are getting ported right now)

Also the knock SENSOR broke off in the block. didn't throw a new one in yet (didn't hear any knock)

Opti was installed correctly and flush when we installed it.
any other ideas???

What is really confusing me is why it runs then dies!

tried Lt1 tech twice without 1 responce so i figured its advanced ?
it is a rebuild specific question
I've heard a few (what seemed to be stupid) suggestions
Can vats do this? Someone was swearing up and down it can be VATS

stock heads suffocating the car?

tuning- wouldn't it still run though?

the only thing i can think of is that it keeps retarding timing till it does due to a lack of a KS after a few min?

thanks-
trey

how long does it run before dying? my car would do that after about 20 seconds with stock programming, as long as i revved it up once in a while and cleaned it out it would idle. **rich**
your stock heads arent the problem, thats for sure. im going to say programming.

Trey I think you're right about it retarding the timing because of the broken off knock sensor. I know for sure that my 3rd gen won't run without the knock sensor..

I would buy a new knock sensor, install it..and then see how it runs.

Good luck!!
