Try troubleshooting that!!!!!! Maybe scratching ya *** 'cause it's down on power. Don't EVEN want to think about it.
Looks like they took that issue into consideration, check out this pic:

It's a single solid shaft that runs through all the rockers. The shaft itself is what moves to change the fulcrum point on the rockers, while the rocker arms stay in a fixed position. If the fulcrum position actuator failed, at least you could count on all the rockers being stuck in the same ratio.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained...

Re: An interesting statement

Well it stands to reason that if:

A 1.8 rocker opens the valve MORE than a 1.3 rocker...wouldn't it take LONGER(in time) to do it? If you travelled an 1/8 mile..then a 1/4 mile in the same car..doesnt it take longer the travel the 1/4 mile? Same car, same hp..longer distance?

And Bret...the "kids" car....LMAO I wish I slowly becoming a grey haired "older" man. But thanks anyway.

That's the part I'm still a little fuzzy on. I mean I agree with the assessment about adding lift=adding duration, but it would seem you'd want the higher ratios on the corners instead of over the shorter runners, since the air going through the shorter runners doesn't need as much time to get through.

Maybe the strategy here is to treat things like it's a 300 meter baton race: the longer runners being the "torque-makers" that get the ball rolling until a certain RPM where they hand the baton off to the shorter runners which are the "horsepower runners." Of course, this is a stretch since we're only seeing one small detail of the whole equation, but it's possible that the guy might've been running a split duration cam. It's anybody's guess.

Thats the way they have been doing the rockers for years. The bigger ratios on the corners.
