Intake closing point ABDC for calculating DCR...

Ok Keith blacks site...
http://kb-silvolite.com/calc.php?action=comp

It says in enter Intake Closing Point ABDC@.050 and add 15 degrees to that.. I have CC306 soo it would be 73 + 15 = 88? right...

Whats the difference in calculating it @.006?? And where do i find those number's. Cam card doesn't list them?

I just wanna make sure i'm calculating all this correctly before i go off and buy my pistons and have the block decked..
Thanks Brad

no. the 15 degree thing is total BS. There are too many different ramp profiles to say that.

Per the catalog the seat duration specs for the CC306 are EVO 89.5 EVC 37.5 IVO 37 IVC 73

Do a search on here for the Pat Kelley DCR calculator and you should find a very good one.

Yeah, the Pat Kelley is the one I use, you just have to dl it. use 73 in the calculator. Or you can enter your adv. durations, LSA and ICL and it will calculate your valve events for you.

If this is that important, you should degree your cam when you put it in to make sure it's installed correctly, otherwise this is all for naught.

And just for clarification, 73 is the .006" IVC point, not the .050". How much compression are you running? I have a cam similar in duration but it has an earlier IVC to keep the dcr up with 11.4:1 SCR.

OK thanks for the clarification.. My compression came out to be 11.9:1 SCR with 0 deck.. DCR is 8.8

I started a post on this myself a while back. It seems that a lot of people compute DCR incorrectly.
