Increased Rotating Weight, Advantage? Disadvantage?
Well I finally recieved an answer to my question from a tech at McLeod, ( Billy Mieczkowski )
"Unless your running Pro Stock with that car and trying to shave off every milisecond you can the 19lbs will be a marginal loss at best vs to smooth reliabillity of everyday street driving"
Looks like Rich hit it right on the head.
All really good thinking. I just always thought lighter was better.
Thanks for the replies,
Getting kind of anxious to get all put together and on the street!

Agree 100% with what the McLeod tech said based upon eleven years of screwing with Ltx cars and literally over a 1000 personal dyno pulls. Owned one of their dual disk clutches and was very happy with it.
However, there are some pretty salty people on this list whom do not sell anything and are not trying to sell anything. C4 dual mass flywheels (which I currently own) weigh over double that of a billet flywheel (one sitting in my garage) and if it made any real difference, the billet flywheel would not be sitting in my garage. It would be in my C4.
Just trying to put things into proper prospective as there is a wealth of commercial free information on this site. Problem is unfortunately my trust in aftermarket vendors is not real solid. Also based upon experience.

Denny: I think you and I usually agree, primarily because we actually have tried this stuff. Mr. Gore's web can be a great source of information, and of course camaraderie. But there is a huge amount of misleading, or just plain wrong information out there. It can be frustrating to get an argument from someone who clearly has no idea what they are talking about. Yet, because it's the web they can seem to be just as credible as someone with half a brain, like me. I try (not always sucessfully) to stay out of arguments and just state my point as clearly as I can.

I, like Mr. Krause, like to stay out of the arguments and listen for what I hope to be the voice of experience from someone. Rather than a conglomeration of BS theory.
Thank you all for the input. I'm slowly and patiently putting together the 383 and like everyone else try to avoid re-work if at all possible.
I must say I love! the teeth rattling torque the St. TWIN **** puts to the ground anyway!
ByByC5 - Nice Choice in cars. Whats your color?

Palehorse77,
It's white with black stripes. One of the 524 made that year.
Bought it 9 years ago, and had 26k on the clock. I hot cammed it right away.
Now 143k miles on it I have almost completed a 383 upgrade, and I will repaint it, new carpets, etc...
Again guys..Thank you for all the input. As you can see by my post numbers I don't post much, but have been a "lurker" reader for a few years and really value some of what I read here. A lot of it is just for fun.
But there is A LOT OF GREAT INFORMATION HERE
!
Thanks,
Keith

Believe you hit the nail on the head and also the reason I have no problems stating a difference in experience.
Simple answer: It’s an open exchange of experience and communication.
Nothing disrespectful, No ego’s, No read one on the internet…. be an expert. Just what we have seen and paid the $$ to see. A passion for the truth and a passion for what we do. Man, I've loved this stuff since I was a little kid. Still am!
Gang…….If I could even begin to tell you how many times I’ve been screwed, bought things that didn’t work or times I thought I knew everything and didn't.
First, you would get bored with screwed stories. Second, you’d quickly know that I don’t know everything. But….. I can tell ya what I’ve I actually experienced in as factual and honest manner as possible.
Slap me upside da head if I ever act like I know it all. I don't, and no one else does either.
