i need help bad...

I've got a 400 small block. the bores now measure 4.125 and the deck is 9 inches i think. the displacement will be 427 inches. i need some help with heads. I have sb2.2 heads, BUT I think they arent that wonderful for drag racing. Also the motor is going to be nitroused so theres another down fall of the sb2.2 heads being but on this motor. What are some of the differences between 15, 18, 23 degree heads when building a drag motor. Its probably going to run off of racing fuel...remember this is an all out drag car. The windows are lexan, dorrs only have 2 bars and the skins on them, etc...I think you all get my point.

Doing a little research on Grant Brodix 11x SP alumie heads.
What are some of your opinions?

The SB2.2 heads will work but you have to direct port the N2O on them. The big cubes help because the cross section of the ports on those things are probably sized for 358 cubes @ 9500rpm or more.

A good 15, or 18 deg head is would work also. Basically the same castings for both of these but the head is rolled 3* to get the 15* head. Your still going to have to run offset lifters, shaft mounts and a intake that's setup for them, but you can get away with a plate setup with these.

Yeah, the heads came straight off a sb2 race block (358 cid). I have a matching intake manifold for it as well. Do you think I can get more power out of another set of heads?? I love these heads because of the flow numbers (390-400s on this set, I'll have to get a print up). But for a drag racing application, are they what I want? Sounds like a stupid question but I'd hate to build the motor around using these heads. Which is basically what I'm wanting to do, which is not too smart. If I can get a better head thats not used for track racing then I'm going to want those instead.

Well working with them and someone who knows what they are doing with them and those things would make crazy power.... You don't have a cube limit so that's going to help and it's drag race only so that will help as well.

You can get more power from another set of heads but you are not going to like the price tag.

Cant be more than 3500 dollars....can it? I PMed you as well.

I want to get an off the shelf camshaft as well but I think its in my best interested to get you to help me with one if you dont mind. It'll be next year because I still have a ton of miles to go on this new motor I built. I'll contact you when the time is right.
