How long are wrist pins?

Question How long are wrist pins?

How long are .927''dia wrist pins in 4.0'' - 4.030'' bore sbc pistons?

Depends on the piston really.

Normally they are 2.750" long but can be much shorter because that will save weight.

The pin length depends on the piston they are in. If the piston is designed for short pins it uses short pins.

Unless you want to do your own pin fit. IMHO not a good use of time for the $24 it takes a set of pistons. Just use the pins that come with your pistons unless you have some made and fit to your pistons.

If you are using floating pins, the piston is grooved in the pin bores for the retaining rings. Most folks buy pistons with pins already fit because pin-to-piston fit is about the closest fit in an engine and the grooves are in the correct place for the pin length.

What's your plan?

The rods and pistons I was looking at were for a full floated pin set up.
I was looking to get a good set of light weight floated pins.

The pins should come with the pistons.

Ask the company you are getting them from what the come with and what you can get as pin options.
