How to fit LS1 motor mounts in an S-10

I am planning a conversion for an 87 2wd S-10 Blazer. I would like to install an LS1 that came out of a wrecked 98 Firebird.
I am still working the motor mount conversion and need to know if the mounts are the sames as a regular V-8? Does an one know how I can adapt a 2.8L motor mounts to mount an LS1? More questions to follow. James supermo26@hotmail.com

What do you plan to do this thing? Make it a super-typhoon or something? If you just want a V8 in your blazer, then go for a 350 vortec or something out of the GM trucks. Much easier swap as per the truck boards I use to frequent.

I have no clue as to the LS1 dimensions though, sorry

You might start here:

As far as I know they haven't published anything on LS1/S-10 conversion yet, but if anyone is working on it, JTR probably is.

Just doing a SBC conversion is a bunch of work; the LS1 will be challenging.

Good link. Here's a quote from them:

The LS1 swap is the most difficult so far of the small block S-10 conversions. To list all of the clearance problems, and things to look for would take too long. Just plan on taking a while to do it. We have found that a Camaro LS1 with Corvette accessories seems to be the best fit. ANY engine, whether a V-8 or 4 cyl can be installed in an S-10, we just prefer to stick with what we believe works well and is dependable. Often times this means designing our own parts such as headers and radiator to use. This is how we are able to build reliable trucks on a regular basis. Our prices are not often for the backyard mechanic. This is because our parts are custom built for our needs, and used in our regularly performed in-house conversions.

Your truck, your engine and your transmission and they'll do the conversion for $9500.

Both of the places mentioned above are more worried about getting your truck to do the swap for you rather than giving you info and selling you parts. I have spent a lot of time on the web and the info out there for the LS1 in a S-10 is very limited. I have seen a few LT1 installs and a few chop job installs but that is not what Im looking for.
I want to find some motor mounts or adapters that will allow me to adjust the position of the block to help clear steering and manifolds. I have seen JTR's and Stealt"s but they are not very quick to respond. In the mean time, I'll keep researching the web and checking the Boards. THANKS James
