How do you pick the right cam for your car

Question How do you pick the right cam for your car

My set up is Ai heads GM 847cam stock bottom end...after doing allot of reading picking the right cam is the key to every eng ...so is there some way to fig out if i have the right cam in my car or should i try of a custom gring....

Dose someone have some desktop cam picking tool or somthing ....just trying to find more power or better power..
