HELP with cloyes set? & 847 cam

i have a 95 T/A vented opi
i have put in the 847 cam and the thrust plate. The cam gear is hitting on the thrust plate bolts on the back side ?

part # 9-3145
do i need a spacer?
do i have the wrong gear set?
i phoned jegs and they said that i have the right part? i think that the part box is right but the chain is wrong what is the part number on the gear set?

the oe cam gear is just a bit biger( like 2 hairs) and the oe cam gear fits fine on the 847
thx

Hmmm...

no problems here but I thing I used a Comp Cams gear set.

Where is it hitting? Can it be cleaned up to clear or will it be to much to take off?

Could always take it to a machine shop and have it clearanced.

How long is that dowel pin on the 847 cam? It's gotta be .620"....if much longer, you will have a scenario EXACTLY like the one you are describing.
