Guys with no PCM and FAST inside

i have posted about this 3 times in the computer section and i guess no one knows but i will try it here. i had FAST wiring issues when i first got the system and had an automatic tranny. well now that my car has blown a motor i figured that i need to clean the wiring up a lot. trying to run the auto by splicing the factory PCM in with the FAST harness was a big mess.
i bought an M6 tranny so that i could totally remove my factory PCM and run nothing but the FAST. i have the FAST hooked up to run the auto that was in my car but that caused too many problems. so now that i have gone through all the connections to my PCM and removed the rest of them that i don't need for the M6 i am left with the yellow 3x wire and some "igniton" wires( i know those just need the fused power source for the sensors). the pin out for the PCM calls it the "REF 3x" (C1 pin 1) that runs to the crank position sensor. question is, is there a way to get this signal with out the PCM? is it needed with FAST? how are you guys who use your PCMs as "door stops" running with the opti spark?
please somebody give me a clue i don't know who else to ask. i have called FAST tech support a few times about things and seem to only read me the instructions, same as have. the vendor i bought my kit from has never installed the system on an opti-spark before so he doesn't have a clue.

Who's your vendor and which harness do you have? You can run the FAST w/out the PCM. It's not plug and play, but the opti and coil will wire up to the FAST. I haven't done one in a few months, so I don't remember the pinout exactly, but it's possible.

Go here: http://www.fuelairspark.com/Informat...ComHelp/v1-00/ and look under the hardware and installation tab.

The "coil driver" is the ignition module, if I remember correctly.

good luck!

can anyone tell me the part number for the FAST harness for an opti spark? does this harness require any splicing at all? if the opti harness is totally plug and play then i got the wrong one months ago and it would explain all the problems i have had. i have had to splice into all the harnesses except the TPS and the IAC i think. those were the only ones that came with a plug in adapters. clue me in.

The one my buddy has is a plug and play. He did no additional wiring for the opti.

i am supposed to have the 30-116010 opti kit with wideband o2, i got the ECU, main harness, injector harness, and two pigtail adapeters for the TPS and IAC. i had to cut the end off the FAST harness plug for the igniton and wired it up according to the diagram on the help section. i have installed this and it all worked when i had it rigged up with my factory PCM to run the auto tranny. and the PCM was supplying 12V and the REF 3x signals to the crank sensor. i really need to know what to do with the yellow wire from the crank sensor. if not then i have to put the freaking factory PCM back in and thats a waste off 2Gs on the stand alone.
i can get my 12V for any sorce for the opit and the sensors right? i was just going to run right from the PCM fuses so that i know that its hot during run and start. this is very frustrating.
I bought it through Fast Chassis, a local shop, when they bought a few for the cars they were building i hopped in the buy to save money. they have never done the install on an opti spark car so they don't have a clue.

When your cranking the car does the fast show a rpm signal? This is the factory crank sensor we are talking about right? I think they only had these in 97' cars. If so you no longer use it. The fast only needs signals from the optispark. Are we on the same page? When I was running the opti my computer was the same as my buddy with the 97'. The only diff Im still using the factory pcm to run the assesories. In other words he pulled the crank sensor out when his motor came out.

AWSOME dudes you are the greatest. well mabey i speak too soon since i haven't actually tried it but after looking at the wiring diagrams for the older model cars i believe you are correct. the factory crank sensor will be obsolete with FAST. hopefully when i get the car put back together it will all work. i will post back as soon as i can. thank you sooooo much for the help.

The factory Crank Sensor on OBD II car's is ony for misfire detection... Nothing more nothing less.. The opti does all the referance for the cam/crank etc,....
