Got some numbers from my EPW ported Trick Flow heads

I went with Trick Flow's bare casting 195cc heads and sent them directly to EPW along with Ferrea 2.02/1.65 valves. Got the valve job and a basic port job (from what I understand). Here are the numbers

.2 141/107
.3 196/144
.4 244/181
.5 275/198
.6 292/218
.650 293/222

These are comparable to AFR's 227cc Race Ready heads, if flow numbers from both parties are accurate. Looks like I didn't go wrong with these heads

Thanks Lloyd for an awesome job and helping me with what I needed.

Re: Got some numbers from my EPW ported Trick Flow heads

Besides flow, are these heads physically comparable to the AFR's? As in port shape, valves sizes, etc? Regardless, with a port/valve work they should better than the AFR's, I'm just wondering if they went about making them in a different manner.

edit: I pulled this up, and you weren't kidding about how close these compare

Any idea what port volume Lloyd ended up with on these heads?

Re: Got some numbers from my EPW ported Trick Flow heads

I am sending my 195 AFR's to LE Friday we decided to go with the 2.05 intake Ferrera 6000 series valve. I hope to see upper 290's at .600, with some nasty mid range flow.
Bret it took me awhile to figure out what EPW stood for as well, lol

I was confused for a minute too, EPW is the distribution company I get a lot of engine parts from....since when did they start porting heads lol.

This is what I REALLY needed to see. I'm really considering these for a new motor and this is just more firepower to push me in that direction.

"Search" is your friend. Try searching on:

Lloyd Elliott

LE1

LE2

LE3

or go to this site:

www.eportworks.com

Most of Lloyd's heads are for LT1s, not earlier SBC. He can do those too.

Elliot Port Works = the man!!

err wait, sorry i mean Lloyd is the man LOL

I bought a set of 190cc AFR's ported by Lloyd, and they are awesome! I am also having Brett work out a nice camshaft for this combo as well. I can't wait.

Re: Got some numbers from my EPW ported Trick Flow heads

Last Friday I sent my AFR 195's with a 2.05 intake valve To Lloyd, and sent my Super Vic, 100 degree elbow, 90mm TB, etc to get converted to EFI. Bret is hooking me up with a custom grind as well

I am pretty excited to say the least can't wait till I get this motor done.

Where did you send the intake stuff to?

I need to stop by and see Lloyd this week to pick up some stuff I have there. If it's at Lloyds I'll take a peak as I've been chewing on intakes for about 6 months.

Re: Got some numbers from my EPW ported Trick Flow heads

Denny Bret Bauer has the intake setup, Lloyd just has the heads. I will post some pics of it when I get them back for sure. Denny from the research I have done, and the knowledgable people that I have talked to. Some nice flowing heads with a converted Super vic with a 23X duration cam setup according, 500RWHP is not out of the ordinary. Look at Joe Sherman's 365Ci motor with a 234/234 .590 lift cam with a Super vic and Afr 215RR heads Flow 320 at .600 and made a tad over 600 HP with that small cam.

The whole cost of the ENTIRE intake setup is costing me around 1,500(Getting a few extra goodies, Carbon Fiber mainly) and it should be ready to bolt-on. As far as the port work Bret told me the porting only really consists of working in the pleanum and then port matching the runners to the heads and blending everything in together. It's not a ton of work.

From what I have read on your car, the intake is killing you, a converted Super Vic would yield LS1 numbers easy . Hood clearence will probably not be a problem for a C4 corvette as long as the elbow is milled correctly.Another intake to maybe try is the Accel Pro ram, (same intake Joe Overton uses).
Best thing to do in my Opionion is email or call Bret and talk to him.

Thank you very much!! I may just do as you say as we've done about everything else we could think of and not much is changing. Thanks again!
