Going nuts! Can't remember who makes this part.

I apologize for the not particularly advanced post, but this is the only forum where the guys who would know the answer regularly hang out.

I recently saw a Powdered Metal / Fractured Cap connecting rod. If I recall correctly it was fairly light, something like 585grams, and was good for like seven or eight hundred horsepower. I remember that it was one of the higher end rod companies, but after over an hour of googling for it I came up craps; and I'm a computer nerd, so I'm normally pretty good at googling.

It was an I-Beam rod, not an H, and it MAY have had a parabolic design on the beam, but I may be confusing it with some other rod.

I have no doubt that SOMEONE around here knows exactly what I'm talking about; I just hope that person or persons see this post.

Thanks in advance for your help.

OK, its Howards Racing Components. The ad says /585g, 800hp, ASTM4260 Steel[rivals 300m] $599.95 www.howardscams.com /.They looked interesting to me and i brought it up in a rod thread here a while ago.I think im gonna wait for a few people to beat on em before i consider a set for a motor.

Yes! I do believe that's it.

I hate that feckin PDF catalogue B.S. though. I think when I saw it before today they were using HTML and had it up on their main page.

I'd really like to use those rods because of their weight.

Thanks for your help on this.

Lame, I am familiar with these rods. I got my hands on a set at the PRI show last year. I used a set in a customers engine a couple of months ago. I was pleased with the quality and they were very consistant in weight. The engine was a blown 406 small block. I'll have to wait and see how they work in the long run.
