GM PM rods
GM PM rods
What kind of abuse are you guys putting these through? They are going to be used in my rebuild of my 350HO. Going to forged pistons, sticking with the PM rods and a scat 9000 crank with a big solid cam and a small shot of juice. What do you guys think? Motor shouldnt see more than 6500 rpm.
Re: GM PM rods
From GM parts catalog:
This kit includes 8 of P/N 10108688 high quality 5.70" length PM connecting rods which are used in the LT1 and LT4 Corvette engine in place of the old "pink rod" for higher strength and reliability. These rods can be used in competition or as street rods below 500 horsepower. Use P/N 10108688 for single rod replacement.

Re: GM PM rods
Thanks for the input so far. I plan on shot peening and using the good ARP bolts.
Here is the motor plan so far:
377 (std bore 383)
Ported Edelbrock E-tec 200 Heads
Probe Forged Pistons (11.3:1)
GM PM Rods
Scat 9000 3.75 stroke crankshaft
Solid Flat Tappet Camshaft:
(259/269@.050, .599/.620 w/ 1.6's)
Car Craft built a motor similar to this and made peak power at 6300 RPM with a 350. I would imagine a 383 would make peak true power right around 6500 rpm, and I will have the rev limiter set at 6800. This is a budget buildup, what do you guys say?
