Smile Fuel System Help Needed

Ok i am being told that i dont have big enough injectors and fuel pump.

Its a 396 stroker, heads flow 270/230, 13.6:1 compression, small cc306 (for now) balenced to 10k rpms right now i have 36lbs accel injectors and a weldon 340/255lph intank motor is susposed to be good for 550 fwhp and 535 ft tq. i also have a 300hp nx maf kit that i will be adding after me and my tuner get the n/a tune figured out. i was not planning to go this radical when i bought the injectors and pump but i see a huge solid roller in the near future
and dont want to lean this motor out.

please give suggestions

Re: Fuel System Help Needed

I'm assuming the "nx maf kit" is a wet setup? Assuming you could make 550fwHP, you would need:

550 x 0.47 / 8 / .80 = 40.4#/HR.

You could keep the 36's and run your fuel system at 4bar (58psi).

I think all my assumptions are fairly conservative.... can you make 550fwHP with a 270cfm head/cc306? A good tune should get you better than 0.47 BSFC, and 80% duty cycle is also conservative. If you accepted a 90% DC, you could live with the 36's. My choice would be a 42.

Re: Fuel System Help Needed

Ok i am still slow about all the tuning my tuner is going to teach me how to use lt1 edit and we will have the car over there soon.

So the weldon 340/255lph is ok to keep using?

the nx kit is a wet kit.

If i am going to buy injectors would going to a versa fuel controller and maybe 75 lb injectors be to much? (future setup) its just a idea.

If i stay with these all i would have to do is set the regulator at 58psi?

The 42lb injectors what brand would you recomend? i dont need a controller with
them they should be high impendence right?

What do i set the regulator at psi wise?

the hp and tq figures were done on a program not dyno #'s

I will be going to a huge solid roller in 06 and dont want to keep buying/selling and buying again. lol

hate to ask but what do you think it makes i know its a cc306 but it does have 13.6:1 compression just a guesstimate if you can?

You can get new 42lb SVO for around $250 on e-bay. Why don't you just run your 36lb injectors and check the duty cycle?

Re: Fuel System Help Needed

Dont forget the SVOs are rated differently to start with. 39.X as opposed to 43.5 psi

Im running 36 SVOs at 54 psi, which at 80% Duty and .45 bsfc = 59x hp
