Fuel System Help?
Fuel System Help?
I just got my LT1 rebuilt, again, and am doing a LOT of changes to the car. It was a street car that I raced, now it will be a race car that "may" see the street occasionaly.
I am planning a 3 or 5 gallon fuel cell in the rear hatch along with the Wolfe Racecraft rear bulkhead.
Now, the new motor should put 500-525 rwhp down and I want to be able to support a 300hp shot of nitrous. (May never use 300hp, but if I want to go faster, I'd like the ability without having to revisit the fuel system.)
I had built a custom fuel cell up front to support my dual Shark Nozzles, but that was to keep the "stock" look and ease of stock fuel tank/lines/pump/etc.

Now I want to run both motor and nitrous off one system.
So, the fuel cell in the hatch, along with a good pump, Aeromotive 1000 or something like that. Then run -10 or -12 an (not sure on size yet) up front and Y off that two two regulators. One for the motor and then into the stock fuel rails with AN fittings welded to them. The other regulator for the nitrous system, and then onto the fuel solenoid/s. Both regulators would be return style and go back to the fuel cell with the approriate sized lines. I've heard sometimes equal size or larger size return lines... Can I Y the return lines together to dump into the tank?
Would this work? Or should I run two smaller pumps, dual lines, dual regulators, dual returns, etc?
As my setup is now, I am using a Holley Blue pump and low PSI. But I want to run the nitrous setup/tune on a higher psi for more "cushion."
So, what are some of the "rules" with fuel systems? Does the above sound accurate or feasable?
Thanks for your time.

Re: Fuel System Help?
Do a search for info on my fuel system. Its only supporting about 800 flywheelHP, but its good for up to 1,000HP. And I run dry nitrous, so there will be obvious differences. But I've posted the detals of everything from the pumps to the engine and back, along with pictures.
